They had high expectations related to sustainability and quality that led them to thermal modification – the process of heating wood to make it more durable, stable, and resistant to weather and heat. However, the standard thermal modification wasn’t enough, so through customization, trial and error, they could create expertly modified hard and soft wood products that were sourced responsibly and milled with sustainability in mind.

Today, Thermory combines a scientific approach and functional design to create beautiful, lasting solutions for those who appreciate natural living. The company carefully selects and sources raw materials from renewable northern forests, turning the materials into innovative products with beautiful designs.

Thermory’s decking products are designed with smooth milling to prevent splinters, while technology allows the wood to stay cool to the touch, even on the warmest of days. Plus, the wood is low maintenance, meaning you don’t have to oil it unless you want to. The Benchmark line features ash for hardwood decking or pine for softwood decking, while the Kodiak line features bold, rugged spruce decking in 8-inch-wide boards.

The beautiful cladding products allow you to feature stunning wood details on your home’s exterior. Thermory’s technology allows the cladding products to feature decades of rot resistance, tight seams for sophisticated sightlines and maximum longevity, and low maintenance. The Benchmark line features cladding in ash, pine, clear pine, and red oak options, while Kodiak spruce cladding in Golden Brown provides a rugged texture. Other options include the Drift line, a bold spruce option that gives the appearance of reclaimed wood, and Ignite, which allows for the look of the ancient cladding tradition of Shou Sugi Ban, or charred wood siding, which is beautiful Spruce wood in a black finish.

Thermory’s porch flooring line features a warp-free product with extreme moisture resistance and is available in both Benchmark Ash and Benchmark Pine.
