With your ideas and our custom building expertise, we can help you design the home of your dreams! For many people, designing the interior of the home can be the best part! But, if you’re struggling with what sink option to go with or what color faucets to choose, we can help. In 2018, we’re embracing some fantastic new trends in homebuilding and design. From vibrant and rich colors throughout the home to modern finishes, shiplap and exposed wood, here are the top 2018 trends that made our list: No more standard all-white and stainless kitchens Copper, stone, concrete, granite and black are taking over the common stainless steel and white design. Dark-hued sinks made of concrete, stone and copper are trending more than white or stainless steel sinks. Features like black faucets and light-wood or painted cabinets are also on the rise. Adding color Crisp white in the kitchen is still popular, but Houzz predicts more homeowners will be looking to personalize their spaces by adding new hues. Grays and blue are expected to increase in kitchen colors, while warm wood tones will replace painted cabinets. Houzz also predicts homeowners will be adding more color throughout the home, favoring earthy tones like tobacco or camel for a rich look. Paying attention to details A variety of new detail-oriented design trends are taking hold. We’ve outlined a few of the ones we’re seeing: Mixing different metals and textures in one space. Concrete showcased in decorative accents, furniture and tile. Walls featuring millwork detailing in more spaces, like the bedroom. Modern farmhouse accents like open shelving, exposed wood, shiplap trim detailing, bucket sinks and rustic distressed wood. Leafy, bold, botanical floral prints and plants with huge blooms. Vintage-style lights such as aged copper pendants. Backsplashes that resemble woods, fabric and wallpaper. Master bed and bath You want to relax before you go to sleep, therefore neutrals and borderline minimalist furnishings are the new trends in the bedroom for 2018. Statement ceilings are also increasing in popularity. Exposed wood beams, patterns, tile and even wallpaper can be used to make your ceiling stand out! Relaxation is also meant for the master bath. Trends we’re seeing in the master bath include a single material covering the floor, entire shower and beyond, floating vanities, black fixtures and even more freestanding tubs than before. We are excited to see the beautiful homes created with these new trends! Which trend is your favorite?
