Employee Feature: Daniel Pierce

Our team here at J. Wright Building Company is made up of incredible people who are passionate about designing and building custom homes that meet the needs, desires and lifestyles of our homeowners. Project Manager/Estimator Daniel Pierce is a highly valued J. Wright team member who helps us consistently exceed homeowner expectations and deliver each custom home according to schedule!

During the home construction process, Daniel works diligently to meet timeline and budget goals, as well as provide homeowners with an exceptional homebuilding experience.

Daniel joined J. Wright Building Company in 2021, and he plays a role in budgeting, planning and executing each of our custom home projects. After graduating from Mississippi State University with a degree in civil engineering in 2015, Daniel worked as a structural design engineer designing commercial and residential metal buildings. He also has experience acting as a geotechnical engineer, which included conducting tests on soils and construction materials. After gaining this previous experience in the construction industry, Daniel developed a strong interest in project management. Luckily, this led him to join our team here at J. Wright!

From day to day, Daniel’s schedule is always changing depending on the progress of each custom home. His primary duties include creating project estimates, forming budget proposals, releasing bid documents to subcontractors, and producing building takeoffs to help outline total project costs. Daniel is also responsible for tracking construction schedules and guiding the development of each new home project.

Since joining our team, Daniel has enjoyed how every day brings different challenges that have led him to constantly learn about new aspects of the business. He also appreciates being on a small team as this allows him to know each of his coworkers on a personal level. Within his role, Daniel is strongly motivated by the opportunity to provide high-quality homes and enjoyable experiences for clients.

The most challenging part of Daniel’s position is ensuring that each custom home is completed on time according to our planned schedule. In the construction industry, missing any necessary supplies early on in the process can cause significant delays on a project. Despite these obstacles, the most rewarding parts of Daniel’s role are helping clients enjoy an easy custom homebuilding experience and seeing them receive their dream home.

Since he’s been part of J. Wright Building Company, his favorite projects are the outstanding outdoor living spaces we create for our clients. Recently, we completed a stunning custom home with an outdoor fireplace and built-in grill that he particularly loved.

In his free time, Daniel enjoys hunting and going out to restaurants and local breweries around Birmingham. Daniel also likes to watch college football and baseball games, and he enjoys cheering on his favorite team, the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Although company policy does not allow cow bells in the office, he typically shows his pride with team attire!
